The Registered Nurse (Postnatal & Maternity Ward) is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based, and compassionate nursing care to mothers and newborns. The role includes supporting patients through postnatal recovery, educating families on newborn care, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of clinical care and patient satisfaction.

The Registered Nurse (Postnatal & Maternity Ward) is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based, and compassionate nursing care to mothers and newborns. The role includes supporting patients through postnatal recovery, educating families on newborn care, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of clinical care and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic postnatal care to mothers and newborns, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Monitor maternal and newborn conditions, identifying and reporting any complications.
- Support breastfeeding and educate mothers on infant feeding and care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families on recovery, self-care, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with hospital standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with direct exposure in maternity and postnatal wards.
- Strong clinical knowledge in maternal and newborn care.
