Restaurant General Manager (Social - Fine Dining/Michelin Star Experience) - Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah

A Restaurant General Manager with Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is responsible for managing restaurant operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while training staff and working within budgeted guidelines.

What will I be doing

As a Restaurant General Manager, you are responsible for managing restaurant operations in the fine dining Italian Restaurant (Social) to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Restaurant General Manager would also be required to manage, train, and develop team members and work within all budgeted guidelines. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Oversee the day-to-day restaurant operations of our Italian fine dining restaurant (Social), ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Manage food cost controls to contribute to Food and Beverage revenue.
  • Lead, train, and inspire a multicultural kitchen brigade, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and innovation.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support team members' growth and development.
  • Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction through exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary team to tailor experiences for special events and themed dining.
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the Restaurant team
  • Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food and Payroll
  • Drive sales to maximize budgeted revenue
  • Develop menus with other members of F&B team
  • Accountable for monthly stock takes
  • Incentivize team members to maximize sales and revenue
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation

  • Previous experience in a Fine Dining / Michelin Star Restaurant environment
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a high-end or luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or an equivalent setting.
  • Proven track record of managing a food & beverage service team in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of food & beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory control, cost management, and beverage section with a focus on Asian cuisine and beverages.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage trends, guest preferences, and cultural sensitivity in culinary practices.
  • Formal food & beverage training or equivalent certifications.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong creativity and passion for service innovation.
  • Ability to manage stress in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen eye for detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings
