Risk Quantification Specialist / Senior Specialist, Abu Dhabi

Job Summary

Our clients are seeking a skilled Risk Quantification Specialist / Senior Specialist to join our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. This key role is focused on leading the quantification and analysis of risks, supporting the successful implementation of ERM processes across the organization. The position involves developing detailed risk dashboards and reports for Senior Management, aligning risk assessments with the organization's risk appetite and sector trends. Additionally, you will conduct comprehensive financial, impact, and scenario analyses to assess risks related to investments, strategic plans, and budgeting, providing insights for informed decision-making and proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enhance the organization's ERM processes, including risk quantification methodologies, tools, and templates.
• Research and implement innovative approaches to risk quantification, reviewing international utilities and similar organizations to evaluate best practices.
• Provide risk management support for key projects, including the application of risk simulation software (e.g., Monte Carlo Simulation, Bootstrapping).
• Conduct detailed analyses of investment decisions and financial models, offering probabilistic insights on investment ROI and LCOE.
• Develop and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) to measure risk exposure and support risk management efforts.
• Automate risk quantification and aggregation tools to improve risk assessment processes.
• Review and challenge business plans and budgets with a focus on the risk landscape, offering risk-based recommendations on EBITDA and unit costs.
• Perform risk mapping exercises, linking risks from the risk registers to financial statements.
• Engage with risk champions and finance teams to develop quantitative decision-making models and facilitate strategic communication.
• Clearly communicate complex risk quantification concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure ongoing risk oversight for new projects, initiatives, and investments, monitoring key risks to ensure timely delivery within defined costs.
• Collaborate with internal business functions (e.g., Project Finance, Strategy, and Planning) to identify and quantify risks.
• Regularly update risk dashboards and reports, ensuring accurate documentation for presentation to senior leadership and the Board.
• Analyze sector trends to improve the organization’s risk management approach and close any control gaps.
• Develop and update ERM training materials and provide training to risk champions and employees on risk tools and methodologies.
• Work closely with the ERM Head to implement the annual Risk Management Plan.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Finance or Risk Management, preferably within a corporate or regulatory environment.
• Experience working in a diverse, multi-cultural business industry (medium to large organization).
• Experience in a multinational company; energy and utility sector experience preferred.
