Description
Can you lead large cross-functional teams to launch regulated hazardous materials storage compliance projects and initiatives? Are you comfortable digging into business requirements and collaborating with business and technical teams to launch new capabilities improving the customer experience? Do you have experience launching new initiatives with high-level stakeholders? Our MENA Ops Risk & Compliance team is looking for a Program Manager to plan and execute regional programs across Amazon UAE. This role requires working with different business owners across organization. This position involves regular communication with the senior management team on roadmaps, program updates, risks, and change management. The person in this role is the subject matter expert in the storage of regulated hazardous materials in UAE.
Key job responsibilities
MENA Hazmat Storage Team ensures safe and compliant storage of hazardous materials (hazmat) inventory with physical, health, and environmental hazards in the MENA fulfillment network. Our mission is to create, implement and support safe, compliant, efficient, and innovative storage processes and procedures for storage of hazmat inventory in Amazon facilities and emerging business models across the region. We focus on hazmat inventory within Amazon’s fulfillment network to ensure storage compliance and provide solutions to enable business initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify and lead risk mitigation and compliance improvement projects to drive towards a best in class regulated hazardous materials compliance program.
- Ensure regulatory requirements are met for existing and new products/processes by understanding product attributes to drive intended storage actions.
- Provide end-to-end regulated hazardous materials storage compliance project management support and guidance for business projects and initiatives.
- Work cross functionally with our risk management, real estate, engineering, business and software teams to ensure regulated hazardous materials storage compliance requirements are known and projects are carried out to delivery.
- Identify regulatory risks in new products and services and provide guidance for risk mitigations.
- Support new business initiatives to ensure regulated hazardous materials storage compliance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with retail, FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) and fulfillment center partners to capture and remediate concerns.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- Experience handling confidential information
- Fluency in Arabic
- Experience in handling Government officials and related networking
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
