An Automotive Dealership Sales Consultant is responsible for assisting customers in purchasing new and used vehicles. They provide information about vehicles, conduct test drives, negotiate prices, and finalize sales transactions. Sales Consultants are also expected to meet sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
Key AccountabilitiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Customer Interaction:
Greet customers as they enter the dealership.
Understand customers' requirements and preferences.
Provide detailed information about vehicles, specifications, and features.
Conduct test drives to showcase vehicle performance.
2. Sales Process:
Explain financing options, warranties, and service packages.
Negotiate prices and terms of sale with customers.
Prepare and present sales contracts.
Coordinate with the finance and insurance department for payment and paperwork.
3. Product Knowledge:
Stay updated with the latest models, features, and technologies.
Explain technical aspects of vehicles to customers.
Address customer queries about vehicle performance and maintenance.
4. Sales Targets:
Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
Implement sales strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
Follow up with potential customers through phone calls and emails.
5. Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
6. Paperwork and Documentation:
Ensure all sales paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Verify customer information for credit applications and financing.
Keep records of all interactions with customers for future reference.
7. Product Presentation:
Keep the showroom and vehicles clean and presentable.
Arrange vehicles in an attractive manner to attract customers.
Assist in creating promotional displays and marketing materials.
8. Market Research:
Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
Provide feedback to management regarding customer preferences and market demands.
9. Compliance and Regulations:
Adhere to dealership policies, OEM standards, procedures, and industry regulations.
10. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in sales practices.
11. Technical Assistance:
Provide basic technical assistance to customers, guiding them on the installation or usage of spare parts if required.
Collaborate with technicians or mechanics for more complex technical inquiries.
12. Market Research:
Understand the market demand, customer preferences, and competitor offerings.
Research on the types of auto spare parts in demand, their prices, and the target audience.
