Job Title: Grade 5 & 6 Science Teacher

School: Pinnacle American School, Abu Dhabi- Western Region

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team in January 2025, teaching Grades 5 and 6 in alignment with the California Common Core Standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners, fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes scientific inquiry and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in science for Grades 5 and 6, aligned with the California Common Core Standards.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to meet the needs of EAL students.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to make science accessible and exciting for all learners.
• Integrate hands-on experiments, project-based learning, and technology to enhance understanding.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and ensure alignment with school goals.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect and curiosity.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Education (Master’s degree preferred).
• Teaching certification, with experience in American curriculum schools.
• Proven experience teaching EAL learners and differentiating instruction effectively.
• Strong knowledge of the California Common Core Standards in Science.
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Non-Native English speakers must have proof of TOEFL certification or an IELTS score of 7.0+
• Teacher license in home country.
• Evidence of a minimum of two years teaching experience.
