Senior Accountant

Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general Accounting & Payable operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Manage the adoption of Group Accounting Transformation initiatives.

Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. A Strong interpersonal skill to manage internal and external stake holders. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Accountants and Shared Service Teams.

Responsibilities:

• Day to day management of AP portfolio for both IG and OG.
• To enforce No PO No Pay policy.
• Monitor Vendor Reconciliation and address Unreconciled items in timely manner.
• Prepare Monthly Vendor Aging analysis, Supplier Advances and follow up on Action Points.
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet Schedule for analysis.
• Prepare VAT & Tax computation for filing.
• To ensure timely closure of books of accounts.
• Month end JE preparation and validations.
• Manage IG Recharges through Intra Group Tools.
• Prepare, reconcile Payroll and Employee Accruals.
• Perform Self-Assessment and work on Key Internal Control Action points.
• Facilitate Internal and External Audit and address Queries.
• Prepare Balance Sheet Review files and Schedules.
• To drive for the adoption and implementation of Group Transformation/Efficiency Initiatives.
• Draw Cheques and maintain Cheque register to perform monthly recon.
• Work Closely with Procurement, Logistics, and other Teams to address GR/IR disconnects.
• Prepare monthly Cash Outflow Forecast.
• Support on ad hoc assignments.
• Support Accounting Leader on any process improvements projects or initiatives.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all sensitive matters.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor’s/Professional degree in finance and/or Accounting or relevant field of study.
• 5 years of working experience in accounting preferably within an international environment and with experience in accrual-based accounting.
• Solid accounting knowledge and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Tax Laws and its application in Gulf Countries.
• ERP experience, preferably SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel & PowerPoint.
• Ability to set priorities, work with speed with a strong customer focus and a high level of energy and drive.
• Strong written and oral communications skills in English Language.
