Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Data Analysis & Reporting Senior Analyst is responsible for supporting the AVP Data Analysis & Reporting and the Head of Business Governance in fulfilling the Data Analysis & Reporting needs of all Consumer Banking Group’s entities which include all business segments (Mass, Elite, Elite World, NHL, Islamic, etc.) and functions (Product, Sales & Distribution, Business Development, Digital, Digital Marketing, Strategies, other Business Governance units, etc.). The role holder is also expected to support business units outside of Consumer Banking including Global Private Banking, Customer Experience, KYC & Onboarding, Finance, Contact Centre, DAAI, Group Compliance, etc.). The role holder focuses on ad hoc requirements, deep dive analytics, and other special business intelligence projects and initiatives, and to support in the overall objectives of Business Analytics in terms of automation, Power BI reporting, and performance packs, in order to drive data-driven decisions. The role holder will also lead the analytical and reporting requirements on marketing leads, activities and overall lead-management performance, and digital adoption and sales journeys.
Accountabilities
Data Sourcing & Maintenance
Discovering new data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and migrating into the EDW such processes that source data from outside of it by establishing and governing data logics from EDW tables.
Performing sanity checks on all data inputs and liaising with respective EDW IT custodians in the event of anomalies.
Liaising with EDW IT to onboard new columns or tables.
Running the necessary jobs on a regular basis to ensure that the backend tables are created on time.
Establishing a clean, responsible and easy-to-track data source. While the infrastructure is governed by IT, the substance, data logics and sources for CBG should be managed to ensure that users do not rely on any other sources and bridge towards a single version of truth for the whole Group.
Ad Hocs & Special Projects
Handling and delivering various ad hoc requirements across the different CBG functions as well as other FAB business units as stated in the Job Purpose ranging from Digital, to Sales, to Customers, to KYC, to Compliance, to CRM Leads, etc.
Supporting on the data inputs required for group or bank-wide activities and initiatives like EWRA, TESS, RBS, etc.
Supporting on regulatory data requirements including CBUAE, FATCA/CRS, AML/CFT, etc.
Supporting on CBG special projects including MSD CRM Migration, RPA Automation, Finalta Sales Effectiveness, Finalta Digital & Multichannel Study, etc.
Regular Reporting
Delivery of reports that are committed to stakeholders to be delivered daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly. These are reports that normally come up from requirements that start off as ad hocs or one-offs, including Excel based-reports, Power Point decks, and/or Power BI reports.
Working towards full automation of reports in favor of EDW and Power BI.
CRM Campaign/Lead Performance Reporting and Oversight
Monitoring and tracking campaign/lead performance results and performs campaign/lead performance analysis
Preparing regular and ad hoc reports as required in a timely and accurate manner using the data gathered and the analysis conducted, to meet the departments and FAB’s requirements, policies and standards.
Assisting in planning and deployment of new campaign/leads including proper configurations in CRM to ensure seamless data flows and facilitate reporting
Working towards full automation of reports in favor of EDW and Power BI.
Maintaining proper governance and controls around lead allocation by ensuring the allocation mechanism in CRM is sound and aligning with agreed processes
Digital Journey’s Reporting and Insight
Making sure all the digital journeys are tagged and reported to top management.
Bridge the gap between Business and Tech team to get the requirements for digital journeys.
Perform adhoc analysis as and when needed.
Assist digital team for proper database taggings with Tech team so that we BI team can also perform deep dive analysis.
In relation and further to the above Responsibilities, the role holder is expected to:
Uphold the FAB values across all aspects of the day-to-day role
Be responsible for self-management and growth by striving to achieve the highest levels of proficiency and competencies and learning new techniques and systems as the job would require
Strive to ensure accuracy and speed of reports and analyses
Perform proactive deep-dive analyses and logical derivations to come up with recommendations on how businesses and processes can be improved
Adhere to policies and procedures as set out by the Group and by FAB.
Collaborate with stakeholders to constantly fine-tune the reports based on current strategies and priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related discipline.
Minimum Experience
3+ years of relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 1 year in similar positions in the Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, or Decision Support functions
Other Essential Requirements
Strong technical knowledge of Consumer Banking products and business model
Basic SQL knowledge
Advanced Excel skills
Basic knowledge of BI tools like Power BI, OBIEE, Business Objects, or similar
Knowledge of and aptitude for data warehousing and ETL will be an advantage.
Ability to interact with senior stakeholders across the Group
Excellent communication skills with a high degree of personal integrity who can deliver under pressure
