About The Job

Handle all activities relating to inventory control system, including planning, controlling, re-ordering of stock items, analytical reviews of stock to identify surplus, obsolete, redundant items and/or corrects inventory controlling data in support of sustaining optimal inventory levels.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Reporting/Record Keeping

  • Maintain inventory reports according to standard documentation and archiving procedures via maintaining constant review of all inventory items of plant operations including consumables, urgent requirements, critical spares and turnaround requirement for replenishment purposes.

Data analysis

  • Analyze ROP/RR reports in order to determine and recommend the date and quantities of new supplies needed, and replenish items falling below re-order level or nil stock if required.
  • Investigate the causes of Nil Stock and unfulfilled demands in order to take urgent replenishment actions where required and adjust controlling parameters if necessary.
  • Analyze the stock Key Performance Indicators (KPI) such as productivity, stock turnover ratio, etc.

Inventory control

  • Maintain control over replenishment in order to limit the excess stock value. Additionally, minimize Never Moved inventory value by verifying the material investment against valid request from the user department identifying any duplication in materials requirement to avoid over replenishment which can lead to excess stock.
  • Receive all physical stock checking results and investigate major discrepancies with particular emphasis on unit of usage, gain and loss ensuring all stock adjustments are processed through the appropriate system.
  • Raise replacement orders for shortages and cancels outstanding orders in respect of excess quantities found in stock in addition to reviewing Nil Stock and unfulfilled demands on a daily basis investigating the causes in order to avoid reoccurrences and ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Conduct all required coordination with the Operations Engineers/Suppliers on a daily basis to record tank level. Accordingly, arranges/ensures Tankers delivery at site besides monitoring levels of critical process chemicals such as HCL, Caustic Soda, KS-1, ACT-1, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Statistics or equivalent
  • 8 years overall experience in materials management and inventory control in any Fertilizer / Oil / Gas / Petrochemicals industries.Excellent knowledge of ORACLE (SQL+).
  • Good knowledge of Computerized Maintenance & Materials Management System (CMMMS) MAXIMO System with expertise in Inventory and Purchasing Modules.
  • Financial Analysis/Management Reporting: Support achievement of KPI’s for financial analysis and management reporting.
  • Business/Report Writing: Make good use of the English language, producing interesting and factual reports in a timely manner.
  • Inventory Management: Seek most cost effective methods of maintaining minimum stock levels.
  • Prioritization: Plan distribution of workload to ensure efficient operation without interference.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain timely and efficient records for all maintenance plans, procedures, contracts, etc
