Role Overview

As our Senior App Development Manager, you will take full ownership of the company’s app portfolio. You’ll manage and mentor a team of six developers (iOS, Android, Flutter), orchestrate automated deployment pipelines, and spearhead the evolution of our apps from native to cross-platform Flutter in collaboration with an external partner. You’ll be the driving force behind building robust, scalable, and innovative solutions that propel our apps to market leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Strategy: Set the technical vision and roadmap for app development across iOS, Android, and Flutter. Lead the transition strategy from native apps to Flutter, collaborating with external partners.
• Team Management & Mentorship: Directly oversee a team of six developers (iOS, Android, Flutter). Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and growth opportunities. Foster a collaborative, results-focused culture of continuous improvement.
• Project Coordination & Execution: Manage app development projects across three different initiatives and ensure deadlines are met. Oversee deployment automation processes, setting up CI/CD pipelines for swift and reliable releases. Monitor, analyse, and optimise performance of 5,000+ apps across platforms.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with product owners, designers, QA, and key business stakeholders. Translate high-level objectives into detailed action plans and ensure alignment across all teams.
• Innovation & Best Practices: Track emerging technologies and assess potential integrations to enhance app capabilities. Implement best-in-class coding and testing standards to maintain high-quality deliverables. Own and refine our in-house development framework, guiding the evolution of our tech stack.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education & Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of hands-on app development experience, with at least 3+ years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development. Proven experience leading or implementing Flutter solutions. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions). Experience managing large-scale app deployments with automated testing and release processes.
• Leadership & Management: Exceptional team leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and scaling development teams. Outstanding project management capabilities, comfortable using agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to clearly convey complex technical concepts.
