Job Purpose
Roles And Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in implementing corporate tax / VAT strategies, projects, and ensuring tax compliance within the VAT function of Aldar Group.
- Provide M&A support and expertise from an VAT perspective.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the AVP – Group VAT and the wider tax team to execute comprehensive VAT strategies aligned with the group's objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the review of VAT-related transactions and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to accounting department policies and procedures, emphasizing compliance with UAE financial reporting statutes, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in the preparation of VAT returns and related filings.
- Support the implementation of robust VAT compliance processes across the entities.
- Assist in the periodic and annual VAT reporting to the authorities.
- Stay informed about changes to VAT legislation, providing input on their impact on the business.
- Assist in Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR) and Transfer Pricing (TP) initiatives in Indirect tax (i.e., VAT).
- Support Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) compliance.
- Identify opportunities to optimize VAT positions and mitigate tax risks.
- Assist in managing relationships and responses to VAT audits initiated by tax authorities.
- Assist with the implementation of relevant VAT updates.
- Provide training and guidance to the tax team and relevant stakeholders within Finance, Accounting, Internal Control, and other departments.
- Participate in the review of intercompany and related party reconciliations, facilitating timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Support and monitor audit processes for the assigned area, ensuring timely completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax or Accounting, in addition to either CTA, ADIT, or ATT qualification
- Min of: 6+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance, transfer pricing, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border tax advisory.
- Well versed in ERP Oracle, TRCS & MS office applications
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective team player with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
