The Opportunity
As a Senior Buyer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. Implement and adhere to Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategies and processes, and follow-ups in factories to ensure material availability, delivery performance, and cost competitiveness. Lead the procurement process for defined material groups, achieving timely availability, cost savings, quality, and service level objectives. Support the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies, and mange supplier performance to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.

Support the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies, and mange supplier performance to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Support implementation, maintenance, and compliance of SCM practices including Strategic Sourcing, Process Excellence, Risk Management, Supply Base Management, and Quality.
- Develop and execute local sourcing plans to meet business objectives.
- Contribute to regional and global sourcing initiatives and monitor SCM KPIs.
- Assist in developing regional/global sourcing strategies aligned with Category Managers.
- Create sourcing concepts including supplier mix, make-or-buy analysis, cost scenarios, and material innovation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize sourcing actions and timelines.
- Coordinate supplier selection with Category Managers and Supplier Quality Engineers.
- Identify and develop new suppliers for critical materials.
- Conduct supplier evaluation, auditing, and monitoring in line with SCM policies.
- Customize corporate contract frameworks to suit local business needs.
- Recommend and execute frame agreements upon management approval.
- Provide market intelligence to support bid and proposal teams.
- Plan and oversee strategic sourcing for projects and new product development.
- Apply CIPS methodology and drive supplier performance improvements.
- Manage Supplier Performance Evaluation (SPE) and cost targets.
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure delivery, quality, and compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues proactively.
- Work closely with engineering, planning, and fulfillment teams to ensure material availability.

- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of working experience in Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain Management.
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
- Results orientation with proven implementation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently on a daily basis.
- Compliance and ethics oriented.
- Flexibility to travel up to 15%.
- Preferred: CPSM or PMP certifications, SAP Experience, Documentation Management Systems, Power BI,
- and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
