Senior Category Manager - New Verticals

The Team

Deliveroo is on a mission to be the definitive food company. We want to be the platform that people turn to whenever they think about food. We continue to operate in a competitive marketplace but have achieved so much over the past year, including significant growth in our New Verticals business - Grocery and Retail

We continue to innovate and challenge ourselves on what we should deliver next to achieve our mission. We are investing and building out teams to help us launch new innovative products. It's an exciting time to join and while we have made great progress, we are just getting started! This role will report to the Director of Grocery and Retail and will be based in our main office in Dubai, where we operate on a hybrid model (3 days a week in the office).

The Role

You will develop top-notch tools and processes to ensure our menu and pricing are the most attractive in the region. Collaborating with a remote team, you will manage menus and core data to ensure smooth execution of your strategy. You will also build competitor benchmarking capabilities and communicate recommendations to partners and senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

Category Management

• Develop and own the category management pillar of Deliveroo’s marketplace
• Create and refine a data-driven model to identify and close conversion gaps
• Localise centrally developed Build robust competitor benchmarking tools.
  
  
  

Menu Development

• Continuously assess menu performance and identify improvement opportunities;
• Create automated tools for recommendations and decision-making;
• Design and execute structured tests with clear outcomes;
• Conduct monthly and quarterly range reviews with detailed, data-driven evaluations.
  
  
  

Pricing Strategy & trade planning

• Develop UAE value strategy and test & learn agenda;
• Localise centrally developed pricing tools and embed price checks into regular processes;
• Support Trade planning process from planning to result evaluation.
  
  
  

Collaboration

• Work with the central grocery team to apply best practices;
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience
• Experience as a Category Manager or related experience for a grocer is essential - particularly with a marketplace
• Experience in delivering recommendations from data analysis
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and owning outcomes
• Experience influencing in a matrix organisation
• Experience working cross-functionally to deliver projects
• SQL knowledge is a plus
• Resourceful, action and detail-oriented, with a high ownership mindset to deliver measurable impact
• Start-up mentality with a love for both getting deep in the detail and driving top-level strategy
