Job Description
The overall objective is to ensure that adequate management systems are in place to continually ensure a safe and robust environment for facility management functions. Facilities Management. Managing in-house team and outsourced contractors for the operation and maintenance of the building which consists of academic and medical research facilities. Study, evaluate and supervise the design & construction of the building. Coordinating with Facilities Management Department to ensure that preventative and reactive maintenance work is effectively undertaken by the contractor’s maintenance personnel. Carrying out a rapid and effective response to daily maintenance requests within the building with the best customer service approach to the forwarded request. Managing pest control activities within and around the facility in coordination with the contractors. Providing facility planning and event management for all events hosted in the building. Supporting space planning requirements of the building with the appropriate parties and project. Managing the necessary changes, keeping all plans up to date and strategizing for the future in line with changing operational needs. Comparing and analyzing contract bids, presented by the procurement office and submit technical recommendations for procurements and internal projects. Preparing annual budget plans and administering works in line with the budget compliance. Stores Management Management of store activities including overseeing the store inventory and stock maintenance. Oversee the receipt and issuance of material received in stores as per the PO issued from the procurement department. Liaise with various parties in cases of delayed or un-honored delivery. Chair the receiving committee Health, Safety, Environment and Security Management. Oversee the managing of health & safety at the facility to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all staff, students, contractors and visitors to the premises. Ensuring the safety standards & policies of the premises are maintained and complied. As a Safety & Security Committee member, advise the committee on health and safety aspects. Oversee the collection of waste by liaising with Municipalities and environmental agency for Biohazard, Toxic Chemical, Biological and Radioactive Waste produced in labs for proper environmental unharmed disposals. Oversee the building security procedures and the effective implementation of the procedures by the contracted security guards in line with the general services department of UAEU. Oversee the preparation and issuance of security cards to the facility and the management of the access control system. Management of the video surveillance system including the maintenance of the system. Manage security deployment during various activities. Asset Management Assist in asset management in line with the UAEU policies and procedures. Track the movement of assets and cases of asset movement and disposal. Assist UAEU controller’s office in asset audits and various activities related to it. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Ability to work under pressure 14. Ability to avoid accounting errors
