Senior Data Officer - UAEN

• The role is responsible for strengthening the Data Management practice within the department.
• The role will help design, implement BI and data warehouse as well as support the data governance implementation and compliance to bring up the data management maturity curve in the organization.

Data Management & Data Engineering

• Contribute to the establishment of an effective data quality framework.
• Develop data principles, policies, standards, processes, and guidelines.
• Define and implement data quality metrics KPIs and maturity model.
• Act as a point of contact to ensure data requirements are assessed and understood to complete business needs.
• Assess current data gaps versus desired states or standards; coordinate with business data stewards to enhance & drive change to improve data at source; establish root cause of data issues, quantify the impact, develop remediation plans and oversee to resolution.
• Perform data reconciliation and check the data from time to time to ensure correct data.
• Work with business data owners and users to establish data quality metrics & thresholds.
• Utilize data profiling and data quality tools as well as various data sources to uncover and determine root causes of data quality issues.
• Design and build an extensible, scalable, updateable and maintainable data warehouse as per the desired specifications defined by the organization.
• Manage and oversee the process of extracting, transforming, and loading datasets into the data warehouse. To be responsible for gathering and processing data into a unified format and standard, and subsequently, loading this data into the warehouse.
• Improve the data warehouse efficiency - extensible, reusable, scalable, updateable, maintainable, virtualized traceable data and code would be driven by data engineering innovation and better resource utilization.
• Design, build, and maintain batch or real-time data pipelines in production.
• Develop ETL/ELT (extract, transform, load) processes to help extract and manipulate data from multiple sources.
• Automate data workflows such as data ingestion, aggregation, and ETL/ELT processing.
• Design and develop data-marts, data cubes and BI dashboards.
• Monitor data systems performance and implement optimization strategies.
• Support the data governance program implementation, data quality, metadata, documentation, training, communications and compliance tracking
• Report on a regular basis to the Line Manager on operational activities, challenges, hurdles and methods of resolution or mitigation etc. as required to keep the line manager informed and updated about the unit's activities.

Administrative:

• Work with the Reporting Manager to develop and implement data management and data governance strategy.
• Run the data governance implementation and compliance.
• Raise the awareness of data governance to improve compliance.
• Monitor and review data quality issues and work closely with stakeholders.
• Translate the strategy into detailed program plans operational roadmap.

Risk Management & Compliance:

• Ensure all procedures are followed in support of all policies.

Required:

• Bachelors in Computer Engineering / IT / Computer Science / Software engineering or related domains.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in data management and data quality related roles.
