Missions/Main Duties

Senior Depot Equipment Engineer
Missions/Main Duties
- Lead and oversee the design, specification, and selection of depot equipment (e.g., lifting systems, washing plants, wheel lathes, automatic inspection devices, maintenance tools, and related MEP services).
- Provide technical expertise throughout project stages: feasibility, preliminary and detailed design, tender, construction, and commissioning.
- Review and approve technical documents, drawings, calculations, and equipment data sheets to ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., EN, ISO, IEC), client requirements, and UAE regulations.
- Coordinate closely with civil, track, systems, rolling stock, and operations teams to ensure full integration of depot equipment within the overall depot and rail system architecture.
- Manage and interface with equipment suppliers and contractors: review submittals, evaluate bids, supervise factory and site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT), and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery and quality parameters.
- Conduct site inspections and participate in technical audits for installed equipment, ensuring safety, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of technical issues encountered during design, installation, and commissioning.
- Prepare and present progress reports, technical papers, and recommendations to project management and client stakeholders.
- Support preparation of O&M documentation, training programs, and handover procedures for depot equipment systems.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Railway Engineering (or related discipline).
Background
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in depot equipment design, delivery, and management, ideally within high-speed or metro rail projects.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale transportation, preferably high-speed rail projects; GCC or UAE project experience preferred.
- Deep knowledge of international and regional standards relevant to depot equipment, safety, and railway operations.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Fluency in English.
