Senior Draughtsman (Electrical)

To prepare detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics for MEP projects in compliance with approved designs, project specifications, UAE regulations, and company standards. The Senior Draughtsman (Electrical) ensures accurate, clear, and constructible drawings to support engineering and site teams.

• Prepare and update electrical drawings, including lighting, power distribution, ELV, and fire alarm systems, using AutoCAD or equivalent drafting tools.

• Review design documents, specifications, and sketches to produce accurate shop drawings.

• Coordinate drawings with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to avoid clashes.

• Ensure all drawings comply with UAE authority requirements (DEWA, DM, ADDC, DCD, etc.) and project standards.

• Assist engineers in preparing schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.

• Verify and incorporate design changes, modifications, and site requirements into drawings.

• Support site teams by providing technical clarification and accurate drawings for installation purposes.

• Maintain proper documentation, version control, and filing of all electrical drawings.

• Review drawings prepared by junior draughtsmen to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Participate in coordination meetings with engineers, consultants, and subcontractors as required.

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Drafting.

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience as an electrical draughtsman, preferably in MEP projects in UAE or GCC.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

• Sound knowledge of electrical systems, wiring layouts, power distribution, lighting, ELV, and fire alarm systems.

• Familiarity with UAE electrical codes and standards.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under deadlines.
