The Opportunity
Are you an Electrical Engineer keen to work on a large scale data centre? Do you have experience in Data centres and the complex MEP systems which sit within them? If you have experience of working with Generators, MV Switchgear, UPS, LV switchgear, busbar and a knowledge of integrating all these systems then we would love to speak to you.

This will be a site based role working as part of a large MEP team working on all different aspects of complex data centre delivery in the MEP environment.

The Opportunity

What will the role look like?
This will be a site based role working as part of a large MEP team working on all different aspects of complex data centre delivery in the MEP environment.
- Cover the following packages: power, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, ELV systems, structured cabling, security, etc.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that the electrical installation is delivered in compliance with the contract.
- Be the technical point of contact with authorities and between the design consultant and the construction delivery team.
- Attend meetings.
- Expedite approvals of drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical submittals.
- Lead preparation and sign-off of mock-ups.
- Undertake engineering calculations.
- Prepare RFIs, pursue responses, distribute information.
- Review design information for compliance with standards, regulations, buildability, commissionability, value engineering.
- Technical review of procurement of materials, equipment and subcontracts including defining scope, analysing returns.
- Arrange material take-offs.
- Review and prepare method statements, risk assessments, inspection test plans, commissioning plans.
- Supervise and inspect works during installation.
- Provide input into shop drawing and as-built drawing preparation and revision incorporating consultant comments.
- Provide input into tender submissions.
- Support commercial department by providing technical details relating to variations and claims.
- Support planning department in preparation of programmes, recovery measures, progress monitoring and reporting.
- Maintain site diary of the electrical scope of works.
- Act a team leader for the electrical works delegating authority, issuing instructions and information to enable the electrical team to proceed with the works.
- Maintain close relationships with the contractor, suppliers, sub[1]contractors, consultants and client representatives.
- Resolve and mediate technical issues that arise in the design, coordination, installation and commissioning.
- Arrange the preparation of operation and maintenance manuals, client training, warranties and spares, asset register.
- Prepare and present presentations.
- Train and develop other engineers.
- Make a positive contribution to team spirit.
- Constantly look for better ways to deliver projects.
- Seek to maximise opportunities for DfMA.
- Fulfil the role of ‘electrical authorised person' when delegated.
- Minimum 10 years post graduate experience with at least 5 years in an electrical engineering position.
- Experience in the GCC area would be an advantage.
- Developed computer skills including familiarity with spreadsheets, CAD, BIM, planning tools.
- Knowledge of UAE regulations
