Senior Engineer - BI & Analytics Tools

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to lead the management, configuration, and continuous improvement of our BI tools within the Data & Analytics team. The role is critical in enabling business users across all functions to efficiently build reports, perform analysis, and gain insights from our central data platform.

Currently, our BI environment is based on Tableau, but we have a strategic plan to migrate to Power BI over the coming year. As the BI Engineer, you will take ownership of this migration project, working closely with stakeholders and end users to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining high-quality reporting capabilities throughout.

You will also serve as a key partner for the business, empowering users with best practices in report and dashboard development and fostering a data-driven culture.

Responsibilities

Manage, configure, and support the existing Tableau BI environment while preparing the platform and processes for migration to Power BI.

• Lead the Power BI migration project, including planning, execution, testing, and user enablement.
• Collaborate closely with business units to understand their reporting needs and help them build efficient, accurate, and visually impactful reports and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain best practice guidelines, training materials, and support documentation for BI tool usage.
• Work with the Data & Analytics team to ensure seamless integration between the data platform and BI tools.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and optimization of BI solutions to maximize performance and user satisfaction.
• Foster a culture of self-service analytics by enabling and training business users on BI tools and analytics techniques.
• Monitor BI tool usage and feedback, identifying opportunities for enhancements and driving continuous improvement.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• Minimum of years of experience working with business intelligence tools and analytics platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and practical knowledge of Tableau, including report creation, dashboard design, and administration.
• Solid understanding of data visualization principles, user experience, and analytics best practices.
• Familiarity with data sources, SQL, and ability to work with data teams to access and model data appropriately.
• Experience managing and delivering BI migration or implementation projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to train and empower non-technical users.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise environments with complex reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory) is a plus.
• Certification in Tableau, Power BI, or related BI platforms is a plus.
