Job Purpose

Co-ordinates and carries out Petroleum Engineering activities related to well integrity, well completion and stimulation (downhole and surface).

Collects technical data for integrity of all wells (gas, oil, water), analyses well problems, recommends investigative and/or corrective measures to Supervisor and supervises the implementation in the field.

Co-ordinates daily, related activities with PDD, DD, Site Authority, and other concerned personnel. Prepares, "Well history files" related to integrity issues and maintains for all the existing wells (Gas, Oil & Water).

Plan and control execution of all activities related to petroleum engineering, Rigless Activities and workover operations on Al Yasat development, exploration, and appraisal.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

  • Prepares investigative programs and discusses with Supervisor and supervises the implementation on problematic wells,
  • Coordinates action programmes and follows-up progress.
  • Picture 2621, PicturePicture 2616, PicturePicture 2622, PictureAnalyses status of problematic wells post investigative and/or corrective action to provide technical support for recommending workover.
  • Alerts Supervisor on any unsafe well for urgent action.
  • Reviews routine or special procedures for related activities such as Safe emergency shutdown/safe installation/reinstallation/removal of equipment and monitors activities as necessary.Picture 2627, Picture
  • Provides support to offshore personnel in investigating specific problems and recommends alternative course of action.
  • Alerts of any shortfall(s) that may later adversely affect acceptance of the "well integrity certificate".
  • Assists Supervisor in reviewing and accepting the (newly drilled/ worked over) well integrity certificate issued by Drilling Operation Division
  • Implements the surveys (e.g., annulus, temperature, echo-meter, cavity test), tests requirement for efficient monitoring of well integrity.
  • Follows-up and supervises the implementation of monitoring surveys.
  • Conducts monitoring surveys/tests to establish the well integrity status

  • Assists Supervisor in the preparation of annual field status report and highlights strong and weak areas.
  • Examines, on daily basis, rig activities' summary sheet and summarizes related activities for Supervisor’s.
  • Prepares periodic reports on wells status.
  • Maintains well data management in PC and individual well files.

Technical Enhancement

  • Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

  • Determine work methods from alternative existing methods in accordance with established policies and professional standards.

Ensure that Drilling Operation Division complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across all operations and support function and all projects, to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

  • Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

  • Implement approved Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices

Reports

Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management

Internal Communications & Working Relationships

  • Reports directly to Manager Drilling and daily interaction with VP- Drilling Operation and team member within Development and Division on the ongoing operation and project.
  • Daily interactions with Reservoir Engineering Specialist and staff within the department and division regarding project execution.
  • The job holder reports to the Drilling VP and confers on critical drilling issues.Picture 8679, Picture
  • The jobholder is expected to implement plans and coordinate technical aspects of sub surface.
  • Key decisions having significant impact on the development are referred to the drilling VP for approval before implementation.

External Communications & Working Relationships

  • Frequent contacts with OPCO staff, on joint studies or drilling projects carried out by the OPCOs.
  • Occasional contacts with consultants and contractors on projects carried out for Al Dhafra.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering or Equivalent.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

8 years of experience in all aspects of Petroleum Engineering Operations.
