About The Role

The Senior Engineer - Planning & Control is pivotal to set-up project control and planning policies and procedures for AIQ in line with business goals and client requirements to lead strategic initiatives to solve complex business challenges with multiple levels in the organization and report same via MIS reports for presentation to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Experienced in establishing project control and planning frameworks aligned with business objectives and client requirements.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to address complex business challenges across multiple organizational levels while ensuring integration of best-practice project management principles in proposals and execution.
  • Skilled in preparing MIS reports, weekly and monthly progress reports, and comprehensive management reporting packs to support timely, fact-based decision making.
  • Proficient in analyzing data to generate actionable insights for senior leadership, developing strategic documents that translate vision into initiatives, and embedding best practices through SOPs, systems, processes, and tools.
  • Provide high-level customer service and mentorship to project managers and planning engineers to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Coordinate annual business planning, headcount and resource allocation across departments including Commercial, Project & Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and Finance.
  • Responsible for promoting company values while ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, and ethics standards.
  • Review and manage project documentation including scope, execution plans, schedules, WBS, and contracts.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules (levels 2–4), identify critical paths, and track overall master schedules.
  • Monitor project performance using earned value analysis (CPI, SPI), progress measurement, and delay analysis to recommend corrective actions.
  • Experienced in budget development, monitoring, and control, including preparation and tracking of client/vendor invoices, internal cash flow, and gross margin forecasting.
  • Oversee departmental/project budgets, ensuring accurate reporting of actuals, commitments, and forecasts against baselines.
  • Provide single-view reporting on financials, risks, and performance across initiatives.
  • Lead risk management processes, including workshops, registers, and RAID logs, to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • Manage schedule and cost trends, initiate change notices, and ensure adherence to change management procedures.
  • Skilled in Work/Change Order management, producing accurate cost/time/deliverable estimates, and ensuring alignment with client and internal stakeholders.
  • Instrumental in driving high success rates in change management through clear communication, persuasive engagement, and strong collaboration with technology, commercial, and business functions.
  • Adept at managing cross-functional teams, embedding continuous improvement, and aligning project execution with strategic goals and client expectations.

Qualifications

Qualification and Years of Experience

  • B.Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization
  • 10-12 years of previous experience in Planning and control at project and/or organization level.
  • Proven experience in Oil & Gas, and Technology industry.
  • Strong understanding of technology and software development processes, and planning for the IT projects.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to translate technical language into accessible content for tickets.
  • Experience with planning software (MS Project and Planner), project management software (S4Hana SAP Public cloud, SAP ARIBA, JIRA, Confluence, SAP Success Factors) and proposal management tools (SAP C4C) and customer service management (ServiceNow, Symphony AI, etc.)

  • Advanced working knowledge of MS office applications including MS Word, Excel (e.g., pivots, data manipulation, advanced formulas for data analysis and reporting), PowerPoint, power BI, etc.
  • Ideal candidate should be a strong driven individual with strong analytical mindset, initiative-taking and disciplined.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and analytical mindset.
  • Collaborator with the ability to work independently.
  • Diligence and commitment to accuracy.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines and Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Extensive Project milestone planning and tracking experience including on-time-performance trends.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules, whilst being methodical with good attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
