Senior FF&E Designer

1508 London is a renowned high-end Interior Design firm that operates globally, with studios in London, Sao Paulo, Miami, Singapore, Dubai, and Bangkok. The team at 1508 London specialises in crafting exceptional spaces worldwide.

Currently, we are seeking a talented Senior FF&E Designer to join our fast-paced and dynamic Dubai studio. We are specifically looking for an experienced FF&E Designer who can envision and execute world-class projects. Our design approach is far from formulaic or driven by a specific style. Instead, we derive inspiration from measured principles, history, geography, and the architectural vernacular to create designs of unparalleled value.

REPORT TO: Design Director

START DATE: Immediate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of projects from Stage 1 to 7
• Take charge of program management, invoicing, and deliverables for all assigned projects.
• Work closely with the Project Leaders to ensure smooth project operations.
• Source, sample, and budget for FF&E designs.
• Document FF&E designs across various project types.
• Prepare presentation materials and coordinate FF&E designs with vendors and other resources.
• Select, coordinate, and document interior architectural finishes.
• Oversee the procurement and installation process from feasibility to completion.
• Manage planning, programme management and furnishing.
• Create accurate FF&E schedules with cost estimates, coordinating specifications with drawing packages.
• Create mood boards and material schemes presenting concepts to clients, sourcing, and procurement.
• Install FF&E on site, dress, and work effectively with contractors.
• Create design feasibility studies for prospective new clients.
• Create and develop detailed design drawings in preparation for tender.
• Collaborate with other designers, architects, and project managers to ensure the highest quality of design delivery.
• Provide input on concept images, materials, and initial layout appraisal.
• Produce sketch-up visuals / 2D photoshop renders / sketches and images.
• Generate CAD drawings and schedules that reflect the design intent.
• Supervise markups, attend workshops when necessary, and collaborate with suppliers.
• Monitor the Document Issue Sheet and ensure all deliverables are met.
• Keep Design Director and Project Lead informed of progress and issues.
• Attending client presentations and take meeting minutes.
• Work successfully with a broader project team.
• Build relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Address client issues or concerns across all assigned projects.
• Discuss ideas and thoughts with clients in initial meetings.
• Attend New Business meetings and engages potential clients.
• Discuss ideas and thoughts with clients in initial meetings.

• Manage high level internal/external conflict and disputes.
• Lead by example, effectively managing personal time, deadlines, and meetings.
• Observe studio protocol ensuring project and company demands are considered.

Requirements:

• College-level degree required (interior design or related field)
• Successfully delivered projects covering FF&E Design and Procurement.
• Breadth of industry knowledge and experience - preferably 5/6 years experience.
• Astute business understanding.
• Articulate and refined design ability and style.
• Experience required in:
• Interior design presentation
• Sourcing and documenting FF&E design
• Selection & documentation of interior architectural finishes
• Experience with AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop, and hand sketching.
• Must be willing to learn, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
• Revit and 3D Rendering are a plus, but not required.
