Overview of the role: Ensure robust financial controls and compliance to safeguard assets, enhance processes, and communicate financial insights clearly to drive informed business decisions.
What you will do:
- Support the creation and ensure compliance with operational accounting policies
- Perform effective training and management on the accounting procedures
- Support the Lead with ensuring compliance with Transfer pricing transactions
- Responsible for maintaining the chart of accounts and effectively communicate any changes being made / new accounts being opened with the purpose of use
- Supporting the lead with the impairment workings activities during HY and YE audits
- Perform spot cash counts / inventory write off reviews from a financial control element Perform effective training and management on the accounting procedures
- Support the preparation / conducting Training & workshops for Controls and IFRS standards
- Ensure all Internal Audit recommendations are implemented which are in conjunction with Finance Controls
- Ensure Intercompany transactions comply with the Group Policies and accepted on a timely basis
- Responsible for Document retention compliance in all geographies
- Support with random audits of workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized and executed
- Support the streamlining of finance process through automation where possible
- Education degree in finance
- Accounting certifications are a plus
- At least 8 years’ experience of which 2 years in external auditing consultancies (retail is a plus)
- Solid experience in International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS).
- Understanding of internal controls and system governance
- Knowledge of SAP BPC or SAP Business Warehouse will be highly regarded
