Since its inception in 2010, National Reference Laboratory (NRL) has expanded from a single standalone reference laboratory to a network of 12 state-of-the-art facilities across the United Arab Emirates. NRL provides world-class diagnostic services to the Mubadala Health network and partners with more than 250 clients from a wide range of market segments, including private and government hospitals, medical centers and clinics, corporate organizations, and other reference laboratories.
Role Overiew
The Senior Manager, Anatomical Pathology, leads the technical operations of the Anatomical Pathology Department. This pivotal role reports to the NRL Technical Director and collaborates closely with the Chair of Anatomical Pathology. The roleis based at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD).

The Senior Manager, Anatomical Pathology, leads the technical operations of the Anatomical Pathology Department. This pivotal role reports to the NRL Technical Director and collaborates closely with the Chair of Anatomical Pathology. The roleis based at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD).
Responsibilities
- Reports to NRL Technical Director and works closely with the Chair of Anatomical Pathology
- Manages a team of 17 technical staff
- Responsible for day to day technical operations and client relations
- Department handles cases for CCAD and numerous external clients
- Approximately 30,000 surgical cases and 20,000 cytology cases per year
- Work includes routine processing, special stains, IHC, frozen sections and digital pathology
Educational Qualifications:
- Relevant Bachelors degree
- Masters degree and postgraduate qualifications such as FIMBS are desirable
- Extensive experience working in large anatomical pathology departments
- Candidates should be licensed to practice in their home country and eligible for licencing in UAE
