The Opportunity

We are looking for a visionary and results-driven Senior Manager – Backend Engineering to lead the strategic design and development of our backend systems. In this role, you will lead multiple backend teams, ensuring scalability, performance, and resilience of our platforms. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical roadmap, driving engineering excellence, and delivering enterprise-grade backend solutions that support Presight’s data-driven products and AI platforms.

This is a high-impact leadership role that demands a deep understanding of backend architectures, technical strategy, and people leadership.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and scale high-performing backend engineering teams across multiple product verticals.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach engineering leads and senior developers, ensuring ongoing career development and skills enhancement.
• Set clear objectives, performance metrics, and deliverables aligned with business strategy.
  
  

Engineering Strategy & Delivery

• Own the backend engineering strategy, architecture, and execution to build scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in backend development, system design, and DevOps.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality code through structured processes such as architecture reviews, peer code reviews, and automated testing.
• Oversee system monitoring, incident response, and performance tuning efforts.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product, Data, DevOps, Security, and Frontend teams to align engineering efforts with business needs.
• Act as a key contributor in architectural and design discussions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical challenges into actionable strategies for executive-level stakeholders.
  
  

Project & Process Management

• Own the technical roadmap for backend systems and ensure alignment with product development timelines.
• Lead resource planning and prioritization across teams for efficient project delivery.
• Champion agile methodologies and data-driven decision-making within the engineering organization.
  
  

Innovation & Technology Leadership

• Stay ahead of emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and trends, integrating innovative solutions to strengthen platform capabilities.
• Encourage experimentation and the responsible adoption of new tools that improve engineering productivity and product scalability.
• Comply with QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management and Governance of Organizations policies, procedures, plans and related risk assessments.
  
  

Qualifications

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3–5 years in backend engineering leadership roles.
• Proven track record of building and scaling backend systems in high-performance environments.
• Experience leading multi-functional engineering teams and managing complex technical programs.
• Strong knowledge of modern backend architectures, microservices, API design, databases (SQL & NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Expertise in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.
  
  

Ideally, you’ll also need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in AI/ML platforms or data-intensive applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with data privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to align engineering execution with business outcomes and influence strategic decisions.
