Key Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate leadership, guidance and supervision for all assigned engineering employees.
• Carry out research and development activities involving pioneering work of outstanding scope, difficulty and complexity in unexplored areas of investigation.
• Conceive plans and conduct projects considered to be of primary importance in achieving new concepts, configurations and performance characteristics, which may result in establishing new theories and a deeper understanding of phenomena. Responsible for complete research and development programs that are sufficiently complex they frequently must be further divided into manageable segments.
• Identify technological gaps which need to be bridged between imaginative and futuristic concepts, and practical materials, hardware and processes. Develop solutions for closing such gaps.
• Conduct analysis and prepare research and development issue papers for customer to establish, evaluate and validate developmental and acquisition projects.
• Plan and direct the requisite programming and budgeting detail and documentation for project approval and execution, and present this information to customer.
• Responsible for the planning, programming, and execution management of numerous developmental projects needed to satisfy operationally special mission requirements.
• Initiate new projects directly or in cooperation with program management structures
• Initiate and then manage programs to develop new equipment and systems, or to adapt existing equipment and systems to satisfy operational requirements involving a broad range of equipment including tracked and wheeled vehicles, night vision system, small arms and ammunition, ordnance support systems, data processing and automated mission planning systems, communication equipment and navigation systems.
• Maintain direct cognisance of state-of-the-art technology in areas which have an impact on the entire spectrum of UAE Ground Forces operational requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive written and oral reports that provide findings and recommendations for new designs or design changes to complex and unique systems or components.
• Modify existing systems and insert new technology, ensuring thorough testing and proper training and implementation procedures.
• Select items needed for Army applications, including complete systems and repair parts, and develop specifications for out-of-production and unique spare parts.
• Use technical insight to find practical solutions to problems that cross lines of technology, satisfy multiple constraints and meet a variety of goals.
• Select the most promising solutions through experimentation, demonstrations and tests.
• Learn, understand and comply with applicable contractual obligations and established AL TAIF Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
  
  

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering required; Master degree preferred
• A minimum of eight to ten years of experience as a senior engineer or project manager supervising and/or managing a team of engineers is preferred.
• Previous military experience or automotive systems development is required.
  
  

Key SKills:

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred; Black Belt would be an advantage.
• Mastery in the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluation methods or techniques to identify and advise on problems, programs and initiatives involving the automotive sciences.
• An ability to determine the short-term, mid-term and long-term impacts of new concepts, systems and components as they relate to military requirements.
• Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software is required.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required
