Senior Manager Hub Ground Operations (Below the Wing)

Synopsis

In this role as Senior Manager Hub Ground Operations, you are accountable for the planning and delivery of all technical components of Etihad’s ground operational activity at Abu Dhabi Hub, to achieve Etihad’s quality and operational missions and objectives, in accordance with agreed divisional safety, security and guest service standards.

Accountabilities

• Responsible for the delivery of all ‘technical’ elements of hub ground operational activity, ensuring that regulatory and state compliance remains central in the delivery of Centralized Load Control (CLC), Aircraft Dispatch and Loadmaster functions and Cabin Cleaning.
• Responsible for global load control and freighter operations, including GHA network performance.
• Responsible for the ongoing management of a sound working professional relationship with all internal and external stakeholders, through regular engagement with airport agencies such as ADA, US CBP, ATC, Immigration and other applicable authorities.
• Delivery of Aircraft Dispatch and Load Control tasks to all other airlines operating from AUH, including safety, on time performance (OTP) and adherence to stipulated service level agreements.
• Ongoing identification and management of safety hazards in accordance with the corporate risk assessment process, ensuring that adequate risk controls are appropriately implemented to achieve workplace health & safety objectives.
• Analyze relevant data to maintain and improve operational performance. Identify trends and implement solutions for non-performance across all departments at AUH and review success of improvement strategies with appropriate measures.
• Prepare and manage departmental budget and seek continuous improvement and cost reduction to safeguard financial spend against operational inefficiencies and shortfalls.
• Responsible for the continual development of all turnaround activities including the introduction of new technology, optimisation of turnaround activities and manpower and the ongoing turnaround strategy.
• Make day-to-day operational decisions to manage and mitigate operational safety and security-related risks, through effective evaluation and decision-making based on conditions, hazards and threats.
• Escalate medium or higher-level risks to appropriate senior management or executive level personnel.
• Demonstrate knowledge and capability during exercising of oversight and tasks/duties, maintain awareness of responsibilities and the relationship of tasks/duties to the integrity of the operation as a whole
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree level education.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience within the airline (aviation) industry with quantifiable experience (minimum 3 years) within a senior operational management role that has led teams / groups of individuals to excel in operational efficiency and has met high level targets within a pressurized and multi-faceted organization.
• Proven experience in a leadership capacity, with a track record of overseeing large-scale operations and managing teams effectively.
• Strong skills in people management, including the ability to engage and coordinate with both internal and external senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated expertise in driving continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and optimizing processes.
