Senior Metagenomics Laboratory Technologist

Overview

T We are seeking an experienced Molecular Biologist to lead NGS-based metagenomics workflows. The role involves library preparation, sequencing, quality control, and instrument maintenance, as well as protocol optimization and process documentation. You will collaborate with bioinformatics teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with GLP and safety standards while integrating emerging technologies to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Oversee sample quality from reception to ensure suitability for metagenomics applications.
• Perform NGS library preparation, including calculations, pooling, and loading, maintaining high data quality.
• Troubleshoot technical issues to improve workflow efficiency and data quality.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments, protocols, and observations to ensure reproducibility.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics teams to ensure precise data tracking and reporting for client projects.
• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Manage laboratory supplies and inventory to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Implement GLP and quality management principles to maintain a well-organized lab.
• Contribute to R&D efforts, optimizing and developing new metagenomics protocols.
  
  

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in molecular biology, with a focus on NGS-based metagenomics.
• Expertise in laboratory equipment, quality procedures, and bioinformatics tools.
