Job Title: Senior Project Engineer – Buildings, Health Complex and Roads

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team for high-profile hospital and healthcare facility projects, Roads and other Buildings projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and efficient coordination across all phases of construction. The Senior Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in delivering quality work while ensuring support for bids and tenders, engineering compliance, and coordinating technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate project designs, technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications to ensure compliance with client requirements, healthcare standards, and local building codes.
• Review technical bids and evaluate vendors' capabilities and prepare technical evaluation report.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and site teams to ensure alignment on design intent, construction methods, and technical details.
• Lead and manage all technical and engineering aspects of hospital and healthcare facility projects, including MEP systems and specialized infrastructure.
• Lead and manage all technical and engineering aspects of Buildings and Roads Projects.
• Act as the key liaison between consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution.
• Monitor site progress, perform regular inspections, identify potential risks or deviations, and implement timely corrective actions to maintain project integrity.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, resource plans, and budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Oversee the review and control of technical submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation including progress reports, technical logs, inspection records, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all activities adhere to project timelines, quality benchmarks, and health and safety regulations.
• Support risk management strategies and proactively address challenges related to technical execution or regulatory compliance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Min 15 years of experience in building construction, specifically within in hospital or healthcare facility projects and road projects.
• Strong understanding of healthcare construction standards. Knowledge of local construction regulations, permitting processes, and HSE practices in Iraq is desirable.
• Proven ability to lead technical personnel and coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders in complex projects.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Project), and familiar with BIM tools (e.g., Revit).
