About The Role

AIQ is looking for a Senior Specialist (APC SME) to lead the development and deployment of data-driven production optimization solutions by integrating advanced analytics, real-time field data, and physics-based models, while supporting well performance, artificial lift, and digital oilfield initiatives to drive efficiency, cost reduction, and operational excellence across oil and gas assets.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops new control systems related to APC, and tests, maintains, and modifies existing systems.
• Monitors and inspects instrumentation and controls (I\&C) installation activities for progress, compliance, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Reviews and approves site-related I\&C equipment design and engineering matters.
• Coordinates with IT/OT and Digital Oil Fields focal points on technical requirements and standards compliance.
• Ensures safety functions are integrated into all aspects of work for all personnel.
• Reviews and approves proposed APC test procedures submitted by the Contractor, witnesses and participates in tests, and reviews related test reports.
• Attends regular daily and weekly site coordination meetings with the Contractor and monthly progress review meetings.
• Performs site visits and data collection activities.
• Prepares regular site progress reports for I\&C APC-related systems as required.
• Maintains records of variations by the Contractor or ADNOC/Client, including supporting evidence.
• Reviews and confirms the completeness and correctness of installation and configuration handover packages prepared by the Contractor.
• Reviews preliminary documentation and commissioning O\&M manuals submitted by the Contractor.
• Assists in coordinating I\&C equipment works with civil, mechanical, and electrical works to avoid conflicts and minimize delays.
• Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards, especially ADNOC requirements.
• Liaises with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinates project execution within cost and time constraints.
  
  

Qualifications

• Specific degrees in control and instrumentation engineering are available.Electrical and electronic engineering degrees are also popular with C&I engineers are acceptable.
• Required knowledge in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Preferable in (Honeywell, Yokogawa, Schneider, and ABB).
• Required knowledge and experience in programmable logic controllers (PLC) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).
• Experience with OPC servers and Knowledge in OSI PI historian are required.
