Senior Specialist, Commercial Finance

Join us at Halcon as a Senior Specialist, Commercial Finance, where you will play a key role in shaping the company’s financial strategy. You will provide crucial financial insights, conduct strategic analysis, and support project managers with P&L modelling to drive future financial plans. This position offers the opportunity to manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and work closely with leadership to minimize risks and optimize financial performance.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of financial operations, including reviewing, monitoring and managing budgets, development of projects governance, and develop long term business plans. Timely review of engineering rates through assessment of absorption and cost centre analysis.
• Advise on investment activities and develop strategies to minimize financial risks.
• Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Evaluate financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
• Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.
• Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software for financial purposes.
• Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Guide, coach, train, motivate and develop the team to ensure they consistently meet the key competencies of the department.

Experience

• Minimum: 8+ years of experience in finance and operations, with specific exposure to operational financial planning and budget control; at least 2+ years of experience leading a finance team.
  
  

Qualification

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, commerce, or a related field.
• Preferred: A professional certification in CA / CPA / CIMA / ACA / ACS / ACWA / MBA.
