Senior Specialist - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure NetSec

Overview

• Design and implement robust OCI networking solutions, including Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, and security lists
• Develop and enforce security policies for OCI environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices
• Implement and manage cloud security services, including firewalls, network access control lists (NACLs), and VPN configurations
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential risks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor and analyze network traffic for security anomalies and performance issues
• Provide expert-level support and consultation to clients on OCI network security matters
• Stay current with OCI feature updates and evaluate their potential benefits for enhancing network security
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on OCI networking and security best practices
• Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Responsibilities

Network Security Monitoring and Management

• Monitor OCI environments for security threats and anomalies
• Respond to and mitigate security incidents in a timely manner
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  
  

Policy Implementation and Enforcement

• Develop and maintain security policies and procedures for OCI environments
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
• Implement and manage access controls and identity management solutions
  
  

Performance Optimization

• Monitor network performance and implement optimizations
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure scalability and efficiency
• Troubleshoot network and security-related issues
  
  

Client Support and Consultation

• Provide expert-level support to clients on OCI network security matters
• Conduct regular security reviews with clients
• Offer strategic advice on improving security posture in OCI environments
  
  

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Stay updated on the latest OCI security features and industry trends
• Evaluate and implement new security tools and technologies
• Contribute to the development of best practices and security frameworks
  
  

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

• Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor junior team members on OCI network security practices
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to align security initiatives with business goals
  
  

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and security controls
• Generate regular reports on security posture, incidents, and improvements
• Develop and update runbooks for security operations and incident response
  
  

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

• Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans
• Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of critical network components
• Conduct regular backup and restore tests for network configurations
  
  

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cloud network security, with a strong focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• In-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals, including OSI model, BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, and routing
• Proficiency in OCI networking services such as VCNs, security lists, internet gateways, and load balancers
• Strong understanding of network security concepts and hands-on experience with implementing security controls
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems and security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) processes
• Familiarity with compliance standards such as CIS, NIST, MITRE, and Cloud Security Alliance
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis
• Strong communication abilities to interact with multi-functional teams and articulate technical concepts
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Oracle Cloud certifications) preferred 3 .
