Position Summary
The Senior Sourcing Specialist Procurement will support the development and execution of sourcing strategies for critical propulsion system components, materials, and services. Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, the role is responsible for conducting market research, managing supplier selection processes, supporting negotiations, and ensuring sourcing decisions align with program, cost, and compliance requirements.
This position plays a key role in building a resilient and competitive supply base to support engineering development, production, and aftermarket programs in a regulated, high-technology environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing Execution
- Conduct market analysis to identify qualified suppliers and assess industry trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage requests for quotation (RFQs), requests for proposal (RFPs), and supplier bid evaluations.
- Support the Strategic Sourcing Manager in developing and implementing category strategies and sourcing roadmaps.
- Supplier Engagement & Evaluation
- Assist in supplier identification, prequalification, and onboarding.
- Participate in supplier audits and capability assessments in collaboration with Quality and Engineering.
- Monitor supplier performance against cost, quality, and delivery metrics and recommend improvement actions.
- Commercial Support
- Support negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve best total cost of ownership.
- Contribute to the development of long-term agreements and strategic partnerships.
- Prepare sourcing documentation, cost analysis, and business case presentations for management approval.
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify supply chain risks and support mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing and supplier diversification.
- Ensure sourcing activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations (e.g., ITAR, export controls, REACH).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Quality to align sourcing decisions with technical and program requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the Strategic Sourcing Manager on sourcing progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Support design-to-cost and supplier innovation initiatives.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications (CIPS, ISM, APICS) preferred.
- Experience
- 3–8 years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in propulsion systems, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Experience conducting supplier negotiations and managing sourcing projects.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and sourcing tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in global supply chains.
