Senior Technology Engineer

Job Description

Group IT has a matrix management structure. The Sr. Technology Engineer role will have line management and reporting into the VP Technology Chapter but will be assigned to Agile squad for task management and prioritization. The engineer will be responsible for managing the deliverables of the squad which includes building and executing application pipelines. The role will play a key role in driving the engineering function within Emirates NBD Group for the technologies he/she is responsible for.

The Sr. Technology Engineer will be responsible for implementing all the changes and delivering new technology into the Bank by onboarding customers and applications to the Platform via self-service and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experienced in Windows tooling.
• Clear internal and external communication, improving transparency across teams and stakeholders.
• Automate deployment and configuration management tasks to ensure consistent and scalable environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues in collaboration with development and operations teams.
• Implement and manage cross platform enterprise applications, IIS, Windows Server, Databases (MS SQL, Oracle, Mongo DB)
• Sound Knowledge and Troubleshooting skillset at client and server-side issues using available tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and manage different environments using Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools.
• Sound Knowledge on Public Cloud Provider like Microsoft Azure/AWS/OCI.
• ATMS – Experience in NCR Products such as NDC, Activate, Connections, understanding of overall transaction flow.
• Demonstrated experiencing in automating workflow, build pipelines using scripting tools at disposal, integrating different systems.
• Ability to work on projects from inception to delivery
• Cross skills in delivery but also operational support.
• Comprehensive understanding of ATMS / NCR products.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage client expectations effectively.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Key Requirements:

• 7+ years total engineering or operational experience.
• At least 5 relevant years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience within large and complex global enterprises defined by high availability, transaction rates, and geographical distribution.
• Good communication and articulation skills
• Implement and manage enterprise applications across IIS, Windows Server, and databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
• Troubleshoot client and server-side issues using available tools and logs.
• Host and manage cloud-based applications (preferred: AWS).
• Manage and support ATM applications and vendor systems (NCR/GRG/Diebold).
• Work with NCR Product Suite; preferred: NDC, Activate Enterprise Suite, and Connections.
• Automate workflows and build pipelines using scripting tools.
• Design and implement AI-based tools to simplify technical processes.
• Ensure adherence to up-to-date security procedures and protocols.
• Understand network layers and firewall configurations.
• Manage and query relational databases using SQL, Oracle, and advanced DB queries.
• Experience with SCCM: package creation, deployment, scheduling.
• Knowledge of domain policies, OU creation, AppLocker, and PC hardening.
• Understanding of ISO8583 messaging standard for transaction processing.
• Experience in TLF and reconciliation in ATM/financial systems.
• Base scripting with Linux and Windows command line.
• Programming in one or more: C++, C#, Python, Java.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Kibana, Elasticsearch, alerting, and monitoring.
• Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
• Virtualization tools: VMware or Hyper-V
• Value added Skills: AI/machine learning integration into enterprise systems - Prior experience in financial/ATM system environments - Strong communication and documentation skills.
