Job Purpose

Roles And Responsibilities
- Conduct landscape design test fits and feasibility studies: This may involve creative problem-solving to propose innovative landscape solutions that are both sustainable and aesthetically pleasing.
- Manage landscape design projects from concept through to completion: This entails overseeing almost the entire lifecycle of each landscape project starting from concept. All landscape designs shall meet the intended quality, time and budget. At different stages of the project, this work is to be done in coordination with the master planning, design, infrastructure and/or delivery teams.
- Oversee landscape cost and contract administration work: The contracts will be primarily landscape design contracts and the work includes preparing budget planning, preparing RFPs, VOs and mitigating any contractual risks. The work is be done in coordination with the contracts team.
- Coordinate with authorities on parks and street landscaping projects: This essential for aligning the projects with regulatory requirements and is to be done in coordination with the infrastructure and delivery teams.
- Lead and manage the landscape design team: The SVP shall provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the team, fostering professional development and ensuring that the team’s output aligns with the overall organizational vision.
- Engage in stakeholder management with various Aldar and external teams: This includes collaborating with internal teams across different departments and external partners to ensure cohesive and integrated landscape design solutions.
- Support the master planning team, particularly on urban design aspects: This involves contributing expertise to the broader urban development initiatives and may include integrating landscape design considerations into urban planning.
- Provide support to the project delivery and maintenance team on landscape design matters: This is to ensure the longevity and sustainability of landscape projects and may involve advising on best practices for the landscaping works and maintenance.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in large public realm landscape projects. Experience in master planning and urban design will be an advantage.
- Professional Landscape Architect’s License in the candidate’s country of origin will be an advantage.
- Min of 12+ years of experience in public realm and landscape design
Min of 4+ years in a senior managerial position.
Technical And Interpersonal Skills
- Extensive knowledge of public realm design, including parks and streets, and suitable plant species for use in the UAE.
- Familiarity with master planning, infrastructure, environmental, sustainability and marine edge design.
- Proficiency in landscape design test fits and quick sketching.
- Strong knowledge in AutoCAD and other relevant software.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Creative problem-solving and design skills.
- Deep exposure to GCC region and adjacent markets preferred.
