We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to join our HUB department team.
Our HUB Department operates in countries across Africa handling all types of vessel calls, including bulk, tankers, Navy, and general cargo ships. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth coordination and communication across all stages of operations.
Acting as the key point of contact, the HUB Department maintains close reporting and interaction with port authorities, vessel masters, ship owners, agents, and terminals - ensuring efficient, compliant, and timely handling of every call.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, or a related field (preferred).
- Good understanding of operational processes and systems.
- Have a solid understanding of the shipping industry, port regulations, and procedures.
- Fluent English – both in writing and speaking.
- Min. 4 years of experience in vessel operations, or ship agency, port agency.
- Experience with port documentation and processes
- Experience with African ports (preferred)
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Job Responsibilities
- Daily ETA/ETB reporting to customers , Master and other involved parties advising vessel berthing updates.
- Sending PDA’s on enquiries and potential new business.
- Supervises vessel planning activities prior to the ship arriving/while in port to departure.
- Complete required documents associated with operations and checking of SOF in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinating with vessel operators, port authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and safe vessel operations.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures for port operations.
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of cargo movements, including bills of lading, cargo manifests, and customs declarations.
- Identifying and resolving issues related to cargo and vessel operations, including delays, damage, and other problems.
