Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution :
- Supervise daily on-site construction activities and ensure work is performed according to design, specifications, and standards.
- Monitor progress and maintain adherence to project schedules and deadlines.
- Technical Oversight :
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring proper execution.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and site workers.
- Conduct quality checks on materials and work performed to ensure compliance with standards.
- Resource Management :
- Manage materials, equipment, and workforce efficiently.
- Ensure the availability of resources to avoid project delays.
- Health Safety :
- Enforce adherence to safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures as required.
- Coordination Communication :
- Liaise with architects, consultants, clients, and contractors to resolve issues.
- Prepare and present site progress reports to project managers and stakeholders.
- Documentation :
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, materials, and equipment usage.
- Prepare and review site reports, project plans, and schedules.
- Education : Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum 25 years of experience in a similar role, depending on project scope.
- Skills :
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Leadership skills to manage on-site teams effectively.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Adaptability and ability to work in dynamic environments.
- Commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Typically, the role involves working outdoors on construction sites in varying weather conditions.
- Occasional office work may be required for reporting and planning purposes.
- Travel to different sites might be necessary depending on the project.
