Job Description

We are looking for a professional developer to be in charge of designing and coding software within the Client's Smart Center Architecture of existing solutions/software. The developer is to use programming languages like Java, C++ to create and modify software programs to support development and enhancement of a newly established Smart Center within Client's Distribution Power. The software developer is to build and implement functional programs as needed by the business. The developer is to work with other developers and product managers throughout the software development life cycle. Programs used for the Smart Center include TIBCO Spotfire and Stream base, vendor-specific software solutions, Meter Data Management, SAP, Big Data & Analytics platform amongst others.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Producing clean, efficient code based on specifications
• Testing and deploying programs and systems
• Fixing and improving existing software
• Work to design algorithms and flowcharts
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
• Integrate software components and third-party programs
• Verify and deploy programs and systems
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
• Gather and evaluate user feedback
• Recommend and execute improvements
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
• Programming Skills – knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive, Pig.
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. Scala, C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)
• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• Attention to detail
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
