Specialist - Accounting-C&WS

Job Description

Job Purpose: Ensure accurate and timely recording and fair reporting of C&WS accounting transactions in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements. This is a key role supporting Finance Management in the design, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive process and controls mechanism in CWS Business to protect company assets and interests, ensure reliability and integrity of financial information, compliance to applicable standards and fulfillment of corporate objectives.

This role demands excellent knowledge of accounting principles, sound understanding of accounting and ERP systems and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a key member of the C&WS Accounting team and bear responsibility to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of C&WS accounting transactions in compliance with IFRS principles and Company Accounting policies & procedures.
• Coordinate closely with Billing, Settlements, Reporting and Commercial teams within CWS Business unit to ensure timely closure of all subsidiary and ERP ledgers adhering strictly to closing calendars and deadlines.
• Ensure that the flow of all authorized financial transactions interfaced from various source systems into the CWS financial systems is accurate.
• Gather all relevant information and reports in a timely manner and assist in preparation of segmental performance reports for C&WS on a monthly basis including variance and margins analysis.
• Timely preparation of balance sheet schedules and reconciliations in collaboration with CWS and highlight any matters for resolution.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of revenue & cost accruals in accordance with established methodologies and carry out periodic assessments for fair and accurate reporting in compliance with IFRS.
• Review and validate the monthly financial estimates relating to inter operator revenues and costs.
• Regularly review the SOAs for major operators and/or high-risk operators in liaison with C&WS department and identify any financial discrepancies, disputes and issues for management attention.
• Prepare and/or review required reports on an ongoing or adhoc basis for submission to TDRA
• Continuously monitor and review the underlying systems, processes, and controls, while proactively seeking to implement best practices and optimal technology tools.
• Coordinate and compile all audit related information (internal audit, external audit, State audit, Tax audit, ICV audit etc.) in relation to C&WS revenues, costs and balances.
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ finance or related discipline
• Professional Accountancy qualification such as CA/ACCA/CPA/CMA or equivalent
• 4-6 years of experience as a professional accountant at a senior management level in a comparable organization
• 2-3 years of experience at a position in accounting in Telco industry
