Job Summary:


Reporting to Associate Vice President – Indirect Procurement (Supply Chain) the Specialist - Contracts is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and amending a wide range of procurement contracts and related documentation. The role ensures contracts adhere to legal, policy, and governance standards while enabling operational execution across indirect procurement activities. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders to support contract lifecycle management but will not be involved in commercial negotiations or budget decisions.


Responsibilities:


  • Draft, lead negotiations and finalise contracts, memoranda of understanding, heads of terms, while always ensuring reasoned risk allocation and protection of the business’ commercial, legal and reputational interests
  • Draft and amend procurement-related contracts, MoUs, NDAs, and other commercial agreements in line with company policies and templates.
  • Ensure alignment of contractual documents with internal governance standards, regulatory requirements, and legal risk management practices.
  • Review draft contracts from business stakeholders and incorporate appropriate revisions for clarity, consistency, and compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UAE contracting practices, including ADGM and onshore legal frameworks relevant to procurement.
  • Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams where needed, particularly in complex or escalated matters. Present to the business on key legal, risk management and contracting topics
  • Maintain current knowledge of alterations and introductions of new UAE laws
  • Track and maintain a central repository of executed contracts and proactively flag expiry or renewal timelines.
  • Assist in resolving contract-related disputes, working closely with Procurement and Legal to ensure prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Provide regular reports to the Indirect Procurement leadership on contract cycle status, outstanding reviews, and risk areas.


Education and Certification:


  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, or a related field.


Knowledge and Skills

  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information.
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • High working proficiency in spoken and written Arabic desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong communicator, presenter and collaborator who can simplify complex issues to lay colleagues.
  • Good working knowledge of UAE laws, including ADGM laws (or ability and willingness to quickly upskill on these)
  • Awareness of key issues in commercial contracts
  • Ability to manage execution processes for legal documentation.
  • Highly organized and goal oriented, with a can-do attitude
  • High proficiency with MS Office, including Power Point
  • Healthcare industry experience helpful but not essential
  • Ability to effectively operate in a fast paced, multi-cultural, multi-stakeholder large corporate environment.


Experience

  • 5-7 years PQE minimum, in contract drafting and governance, preferably within a procurement or shared services function.
  • Candidates with more PQE will not be discounted.
  • Experience working in-house and Healthcare experience is advantageous.
  • Some experience negotiating commercial contracts is essential.
  • UAE or wider GCC work experience preferred
