Job Purpose
The QRA Specialist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive environmental assessments and quantitative risk assessments (QRAs) for various petroleum and chemical projects, utilizing advanced software tools such as DNV PHAST AND SAFETI. This role will involve identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential hazards to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the QRA Specialist will contribute to business development initiatives, identify new opportunities, and drive sales growth.
Accountabilities
- QRA Expertise: Conduct in-depth quantitative risk assessments (QRAs) for a variety of projects, including process plants, pipelines, and offshore facilities.
- Environmental Assessments: Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Strategic Environmental Impact Assessments (ESIAs), and Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) for a variety of projects, including infrastructure development, industrial facilities, and energy projects.
- Software Proficiency: Demonstrate hands-on experience with software tools like DNV PHAST AND SAFETI to model and analyze potential hazard scenarios.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Strategic Environmental Impact Assessments (ESIAs), Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), and Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs) reports and documentation, summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Consultancy Services: Provide reliable, effective, and efficient delivery of environmental consultancy services with a detailed understanding of relevant environmental consenting and licensing requirements
- Proposal Preparation: Contribute to proposal preparation and manage multi-disciplinary tenders.
- Business Growth: Identify new business opportunities and potential clients in the target market, and actively participate in sales activities to promote QRA services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and project developers, to address environmental concerns and obtain necessary approvals.
- Environmental Monitoring: Develop and implement environmental monitoring programs to track project impacts and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Task Management: Work independently and efficiently, understanding tasks, requirements, and deadlines.
- Knowledge Updates: Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and emerging technologies related to environmental assessments and quantitative risk assessments (QRAs).
Experience & Qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting QRAs using DNV PHAST and Safeti software, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Strategic Environmental Impact Assessments (ESIAs), and Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) for a variety of projects, including infrastructure development, industrial facilities, and energy projects
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. (Master's degree is preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Modeling Skills: Experience with modeling software such as AERMOD, AERMOD-PM, SoundPLAN, Vissim, QUAL2E, MIKE 21, or similar software’s is a plus.
- Environmental Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of environmental and safety issues, including environmental impact assessment methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and pollution control measures.
- Business Development Skills: Proven ability to identify and pursue business opportunities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical information to a diverse audience. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and well-structured environmental reports.
- Project Management: Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and coordination. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address environmental challenges
