Job Purpose
The Sponsorship Sales Manager will be responsible for securing sponsorship revenue across a portfolio of B2B events. This role suits a tenacious, driven, solution-oriented self-starter with a ‘can-do’ attitude—someone who is ambitious, commercially focused, and motivated to succeed.
You will manage and execute sponsorship sales campaigns for your assigned events and client accounts. The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively throughout the year—meeting targets while ensuring a high-quality customer experience.
Key Accountabilities
Market & Client Analysis – Conduct research to understand market dynamics, vendor/client relationships, audience segmentation, competitive positioning, and industry trends.
Business Development – Engage new and existing clients to identify their needs and sell tailored sponsorship packages that align with event objectives.
Sales Planning – Develop and execute strategic sales plans, aligning with internal teams (conference, exhibition, and marketing) to support sponsorship marketing initiatives.
Revenue Ownership – Take full responsibility for your client base, revenue targets, and business development pipeline, reporting regularly on progress and performance.
Lead Generation & CRM – Identify, qualify, and maintain accurate lead data within CRM systems to ensure effective tracking and follow-up.
Sponsorship Fulfilment – Coordinate with operations teams to ensure sold packages are delivered effectively and meet client expectations.
Internal Collaboration – Work closely with marketing, production, and other teams to align outreach and messaging with audience needs.
Industry Knowledge – Stay informed about developments in key sectors and topics relevant to your event portfolio through ongoing research and engagement with industry publications.
Personal Growth – Demonstrate a strong interest in the sales profession and the event sectors represented in your portfolio, with a proactive approach to learning and development.
Event Participation – Attend events as required to support client engagement, retention, and on-site rebooking.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
Minimum Qualifications & Knowledge:
Experience in large-scale exhibition and sponsorship sales
Strong background in business development and account management
Familiarity with CRM systems, lead generation, and proposal writing
Analytical and detail-oriented reporting skills
Minimum Experience
3+ years of B2B sponsorship sales experience, preferably with international exposure
