Sponsorships Unit Head JOB
Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi)

Role Purpose
Develop Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre sponsorship strategy and the portfolio of sponsorship events. Manage and supervise identifying and pursue potential sponsors after targeted research. Direct the unit to collaborate with internal teams to plan sponsorships, while directing the unit to act as the focal point of contact between sponsors and the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.
Key Responsibilities
Sponsorships Management
- Lead developing a sponsorship strategy / program to maximize sponsorship opportunities for the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.
- Monitor income of bookfairs and events sponsorships in collaboration with the relevant units within the section, aiding to achieve defined income targets.
- Liaise with departments and Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center to identify their needs and develop sponsorship opportunities.
- Oversee the planning to increase revenue through a high volume of sponsorship activities.
- Ensure all activation initiatives comply with contractual obligations and visual and verbal identity guidelines.
- Direct quarterly business review meetings with the respective teams to ensure activities are measured and meet the agreed objectives.
Sponsorships Relationships
- Manage and lead building and maintaining strong external relationships with potential sponsors, corporate partners, and supporters, through securing and leading new business meetings, and maintaining strong relationships.
- Manage and improve relationships with corporate and public entities to secure long term and event-based sponsorship agreements.
- Oversee negotiating and executing sponsorship agreements, while ensuring all sponsorships are executed as per defined requirements.
- Lead in developing and implementing sponsorships policy and procedures in line with best practices.
- Manage and drive the development and adaptation of marketing campaigns to support the sponsorships in liaison with relevant Marketing teams.

Strategic Contribution
- Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into section business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing sectional strategies.
People Management
- Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the Section by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximize performance.
- Lead the sponsorships initiatives for the assigned section, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.
- Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned section to foster a value driven culture within the organization.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Manage the preparation and recommend the section budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Manage and ensure effective implementation of functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned section activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting
- Ensure that all section reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet DCT requirements, policies and quality standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master Preferred) in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or any other degree within relevant industry.
- Professional certification is preferred.
Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in managing funds or sponsorships with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial position or any other experience within a similar role or industry
Skills
- Language:
- Full professional English proficiency both in speaking and writing
- Arabic bilingual desirable but not mandatory
- Skilled in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
- High level of competency in relevant software applications
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to complete work in a timely manner
- Ability to quickly integrate with existing business software tools and knowledge of other relevant industry software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - including appropriate stakeholder alignment
- Evidence of creating, implementing, and managing policies and procedures
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize work effectively
- Knowledge of sponsorships / fund management.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of sponsorships / fund management techniques.
