Role Overview:
The Fiscal Affairs role supports the development and stability of Abu Dhabi’s financial and economic conditions at the macro-level, as well as studies the fiscal and economic implications of major policies. The role combines quantitative modelling (both financial and economic), qualitative analysis, and stakeholder engagement (including both internally within DOF and externally). Requiring robust numerical skills and versatility, the role will develop candidates to navigate different types of analyses (financial, economic and social) and present results in an insightful, concise manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher with a preference for a major in economics, finance, public policy, or a related field. Other quantitative degrees (e.g. statistics, data science, engineering, actuarial science, etc.) are suitable too
- Must be comfortable with numerical analysis, especially in Excel. The role necessitates advanced Excel proficiency, and training will be provided to bridge gaps
- Willingness and ability to learn, as the role will entail significant learning opportunities and requirements
- Interest in economics, statistics and the public sector
- Preferred bonus skills: coding (especially in Python, though any previous coding experience in any language is beneficial), written Arabic fluency, finance (e.g. CFA)
Years of experience and required qualifications.
- Minimum of 3 year of experience in similar field or position.
The role offers considerable responsibilities and exposure to senior professionals, alongside interactions with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders.
This role demands a versatile set of skills and a commitment to continuous learning. Candidates will be empowered to refine their numerical and qualitative abilities through interactions with stakeholders and tailored learning opportunities, spanning areas such as econometrics, machine learning, or even obtaining the CFA designation.
