The Role

As a Senior Principal Solution Consultant, you’ll bring your expertise in subsurface modeling to deliver technical demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and specialized support to customers using AspenTech SSE solutions. This role requires deep experience with AspenTech’s geological modeling tools (Aspen RMS and Aspen SKUA), a collaborative approach to cross-domain selling, and a proactive attitude in identifying and developing business opportunities. You’ll work closely with our sales team to support pre-sales activities, prepare technical specifications, and contribute to building a healthy pipeline to drive new business and renewals. Fluency in Arabic is mandatory for this role.

Your Impact

  • Pre-Sales Expertise and Cross-Domain Collaboration: Reporting to the Solution Consulting Director, you will lead pre-sales activities for AspenTech SSE’s G&G Modeling domain. You’ll provide comprehensive technical support to the sales team, including preparing technical specifications, delivering tailored demonstrations, and actively contributing to tender documentation to support new business pursuits.
  • Sales and PCS Contract Renewal: Support sales and management in all aspects of PCS contract renewals and account growth. You’ll work alongside the sales team managing renewal processes, providing technical insights that help secure renewals and expand contract scope when possible.
  • Opportunity Identification and Customer Value Enhancement: Be proactive in identifying opportunities for increased customer engagement and value. You’ll conduct assessments to drive higher software utilization rates, recommend features or new modules that address customer needs, and communicate up-sell and cross-sell opportunities to the management team.
  • Pipeline Growth and Renewals: Play a key role in growing our sales pipeline and renewals by conducting technical update sessions that showcase the latest features and improvements, facilitating the adoption of cross-domain solutions, and identifying ways to bring additional value to existing accounts.
  • Account Expansion and Strategic Communication: Systematically explore growth opportunities within each customer account, asset, or business unit. By closely monitoring customer needs, you’ll identify ways AspenTech can expand its footprint.
  • Client Support for Complex Challenges: You’ll support clients locally and internationally by providing solutions for complex modeling issues using Aspen RMS and Aspen SKUA software. You’ll ensure clients receive timely and efficient support, maximizing customer satisfaction through effective use of company resources and project management practices.
  • Building and Maintaining Strategic Relationships: Cultivate influential relationships with key customer stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted partner and technical expert. Participate in customer projects and proofs of concept as needed, contributing to project success and customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced Problem Solving with Technical Teams: Collaborate with customers, internal technical teams, and R&D to solve complex subsurface modeling challenges. You’ll engage in diagnosing and troubleshooting advanced problems, and work with R&D to find effective solutions and document issues.
  • Technical Knowledge Transfer and Demonstrations: Deliver engaging knowledge transfer and technical demonstrations to customers, providing hands-on guidance with AspenTech SSE modeling software. You’ll support the sales team by preparing thorough technical demonstrations that showcase the software’s capabilities and answer customer inquiries.
  • Customer Onboarding and Continuous Training: Develop and maintain best practices for onboarding customers to AspenTech SSE’s modeling solutions, providing a clear path for clients to maximize the value of their software investment. You’ll also assist in developing training sessions and workshops to support continuous learning across various cross-disciplinary functions.

What You'll Need

  • Educational Background: MSc or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience and Technical Skills: 10-15 years of experience in geological modeling including structural and stratigraphic framework building, reservoir characterization, property modeling, uncertainty workflows, and planning. Hands-on experience with either SKUA or RMS is mandatory.
  • Sales and Pre-Sales Collaboration: Proven experience in pre-sales support, including collaboration with sales teams to develop technical specifications, tender documents, and deliver engaging demos. Prior exposure to clients in the Middle East region is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English are mandatory to support regional customer engagements.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows: Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments for project and software support.
  • Customer Engagement: Demonstrated expertise in delivering customer training, onboarding, proposal support, and hands-on workshops.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of current geoscience software, geological modeling technologies, and integrated workflows.
  • Experience with Database Infrastructure: Familiarity with Aspen Epos or similar data platforms is desirable.

Competency Expectations for the Role

  • This role requires demonstrated mastery across multiple strategic competencies, as aligned with the senior-most Solution Consulting levels in the organizational competency model. Specifically, the Senior Principal Solution Consultant in Modeling is expected to exhibit:
  • Expert-level knowledge of AspenTech subsurface solutions (Aspen SKUA/Aspen RMS).
  • Strategic communication skills and ability to influence high-level stakeholders within NOCs and IOCs.
  • Mastery in consultative sales conversations, value creation, and opportunity management.
  • Proven capability in managing strategic accounts and navigating complex renewal negotiations.
  • High learning agility and strong ownership in driving outcome-based engagements.
  • Advanced forecasting, pipeline management, and planning skills to align with regional sales strategy.
