Strategy & Operations Lead - Rollups & DeFi Infrastructure

Your mission

karpatkey seeks a full-time Strategy & Operations Lead focusing on Rollups and DeFi Infrastructure Partners to join our Strategy & Operations team. In this role, you’ll drive financial sustainability for our partner organisations by ensuring proactive, non-custodial treasury management, fostering partnerships with leading Web3 organisations, and designing strategic initiatives that elevate our ecosystem presence. Key responsibilities include capital preservation, partnership cultivation, and developing dynamic reporting solutions.

As a pivotal team member, you’ll refine our strategic direction, optimise asset allocation strategies, and forge strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You’ll draft strategic proposals, lead DeFi integration projects, and conduct deep market analysis to support data-driven decisions and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

• Collaborate across other internal teams to find synergies and refine partner strategies, assess constraints, and align on financial goals.
• Expand our service offerings and continuously enhance karpatkey’s value propositions.
• Collaborate with the internal Governance team to draft proposals, engage stakeholders, support governance outreach, encourage vote participation, and formalise partnership agreements to drive financial growth for partner organizations.
  
  

Asset Management

• Design and execute strategic and tactical asset allocation based on priorities of the clients (e.g. risk appetite, return objective, ecosystem objectives, etc.)
• Design and execute Protocol-Owned Liquidity (POL) strategies.
  
  

Risk Management and Research

• Establish a risk management framework to assess and mitigate relevant risks for Asset Management, including market risk, protocol risks, liquidity risks, technical risk, and others.
• Conduct in-depth research into protocols for risk analysis.
• Configure automated risk detection alerts via vendor platforms, and support Emergency Response initiatives.
• Conduct market research and produce custom reports to guide DAOs in their financial strategies.
  
  

Business Development

• Lead integrations with DeFi protocols and engage in community platforms like X, Discord, Discourse and Telegram.
• Foster industry relationships to enhance karpatkey’s brand and service awareness.
• Represent karpatkey in relevant conferences and events across the world.
  
  

Tracking & Reporting

• Generate reports on financial status and business outlooks for partners.
• Track and report financial metrics to support informed decision-making.

Requirements:

• BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in financial services or Web3 industry, preferably in asset management.
• Strong understanding of DeFi and ideally solid understanding of dApps and overall Ethereum ecosystem.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and on-chain data analysis tools such as Infura, Etherscan, The Graph, Nansen, and Dune Analytics.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with proven problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional organisational and project management abilities.
• Native/fluent English with excellent communication skills.
• Nice-to-Haves
• Experience at a crypto-focused company or protocol.
• MBA or advanced degree.
• Active presence on Crypto-Twitter, Discord, and DAO forums.
• Web3 coding skills (Solidity, Python, SQL) and familiarity with dashboard creation tools such as Dune Analytics.
