- The Subcontracts Manager oversees all pre-award aspects of subcontract management, including cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance, while planning, organizing, and managing the company’s subcontracting activities to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Additionally, they lead subcontract negotiations, securing favorable terms and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations.
Pre-Contract Award
- Define and accomplish both short-term and longer-term goals / objectives that enhance Wood subcontracting capabilities and manage the implementation of these goals
- Develop, implement and maintain subcontracting procedures needed to provide appropriate controls over the manner in which area subcontracting activities (pre-award) are performed
- Manage and supervise a pool of Subcontract Coordinators and Administrators performing subcontracts related activities for all Wood activities across the different businesses
- Allocate resources to Projects so that a responsive, capable and cost-effective organization is maintained
- Participate in company business development and audit activities by presenting the company’s subcontracting capabilities to clients or auditors
- Lead efforts to support Bids & Proposals by preparing all subcontracts deliverables for the submission, i.e. pricing estimation, man-hours, subcontracting write-ups, etc.
- Maintain the existing records for the pre-qualified Subcontractors and pre-qualify new Subcontract companies to increase level of competition and improve levels of safety, quality, performance and price
- Work closely with other department, including project management, HSE, Legal, Finance and Contract to align subcontractor activities with project objectives and company golden rules
- Control all on-going subcontract activities (pre-award and post-award) and ensure adherence to the procedures
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with subcontractor performance and possible project disruptions
- Interface closely with other Departments and Project Management team to provide the necessary support and receive information relative to the company’s subcontracting functions
- Ensure compliance to HSES policies and procedures as applicable
- Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures
- Post award administration is under the Contract department responsibility but the Senior Subcontract manager will ensure a proper handover and necessary support is in place
- The Subcontract Team remain involved for the following activities:
- commercial invoice and payment process for subcontracts,
- review and participate in the resolution of major claims and disputes,
- facilitate commercial close out of Subcontract Agreements (including performance evaluations)

Expected
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering (or similar)
- Minimum 20 years’ working experience on Oil and Gas projects
- Project subcontracting experience
- Direct purchasing on a global basis
- Ability to prepare negotiation strategies / techniques and participate / lead negotiations
- Good knowledge of project procurement execution (start to finish)
- Good knowledge of Oil and Gas supply chain or related supply chain
