Job Description

 Demand Planning:

  • Lead and monitor the entire Sales and operations planning (S&OP) cycle by identifying and analyzing weaknesses or inefficiencies within Dubai Health's supply chain process to identify areas for improvement, recommend options to close these gaps, and forecast required materials with the required supply levels.
  • Calculate the potential demand as part of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle and the business plan .
  • Lead the reconciliation of the market's product demand and supply, highlighting gaps and opportunities for Dubai Health. Also, forecast internal demand levels that might be limited by constraints such as production capacity, supply of materials, cash flow, regulations, etc.
  • Improve the flow of goods until they are delivered and stored.
  • Prepare a two (2) year forecast based on Dubai Health’s growth plans.
  • Monitor DAHC Facilities’ OS&R (Overstock and residuals) against target and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Highlight slow-moving and non-moving stocks (SLOB) to the business owners so they can take appropriate disposal actions.
  • Provide supply chain-related inputs for incorporation into the monthly financial forecast.

Facilitate the Demand Planning Process:

  • Responsible for reviewing and updating the forecast S&OP meetings under the monthly demand planning cycle and the weekly operational meetings.
  • Determine Dubai Health’s reference point (baseline) by analyzing the data provided by the end user and facilities team and establishing activities over and above the baseline.
  • Measure the forecast against actual demands and assess the performance of the forecast.
  • Define the areas where there is an ability to meet and satisfy the demand for products and materials with the planned supply capabilities and identify those that would be an exception.
  • Minute all the forecasted changes to ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
  • Ensure that the database with the products and materials required to meet and satisfy the demand is maintained correctly in the system to ensure accurate data flow
  • Regularly send an updated demand plan and supply reconciliation to suppliers/finance/procurement and all other relevant stakeholders.

Base Demand Plan

  • Identify the right historical demand horizon to use for the baseline generation
  • Clean the historical Consumption data from any value that strays too far from the average (outliers).
  • Identify the most appropriate statistical forecasting algorithm and models that should be used for stackable items.
  • Generate the baseline using the model selected and adjust where necessary.
  • Communicate the generated baselines to relevant stakeholders.

Supply Planning:

  • Define and build the strategy for the finished goods inventory (FGIs) and agreed stock norms.
  • Work closely with respective suppliers to ensure stock levels once the supply plan is met.
  • Share monthly supply shortages with key stakeholders and establish contingency actions in case of supply risks.
  • Define and establish a distribution network for stock holding points.
  • Plan new product launches, co-lead the network with the end users, and liaise with suppliers.
  • Quantify the reselling values of materials that need to be removed or whose values need to be reduced in the inventory to reflect the actual value for businesses from their accounting records (write-off RPM) and communicate with the business quarterly and the supply chain financing (SCF), to treat it as a loss (charging off)

Inventory Planning

  • Define the correct safety stocks in the inventory of finished goods (FGI) and provide an update on stock levels (FGI BW) for the year to date (YTD) and forecast for the year to go (YTG).
  • Define stock replenishment guidelines and ordering frequency based on different planning cycles for each sourcing unit.
  • Monitor OS&R (Overstock& Residuals) against target and identify improvement opportunities.
  • SLOB management: Identify slow-moving and non-moving stocks to take appropriate actions for disposal.

New Product Demand (NPD) Plan

  • Analyze the NPD and volume requirements to include them in the demand and supply plans.
  • Monitor the performance of the new products for the first three months and highlight the need to amend forward forecasts when necessary .

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze forecast accuracy and bias to identify and implement process enhancements to improve these KPIs
  • Present the KPIs to the management team monthly to find ways to improve them
  • Analyze top positive and negative abnormalities and tackle them
  • Champion the development of changes to current processes
  • Coach the end users/stakeholders on forecasting techniques to facilitate discussions while simultaneously improving KPIs
  • Any other assignments related to the nature of the job assigned by the management.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree - Industrial Engineering (preferred), engineering, Supply Chain, or business administration with statistical courses.

Certification Production and inventory management (CPIM) or supply chain program (CSCP).
