Job Summary

The System Engineer at Halcon is responsible to develop, execute and improve the system engineering program for the guided weapon product. In this position you will take ownership for the Technical (Requirement, Risk) Management of the programme deliverables and ensures that the System functional specifications adhere to system requirements. You will also ensure traceability- and interface compliance to the system specification of the product.

Key Accountabilities:

• Support Project Manager and design team in developing the Engineering Management Plan
• Provide inputs to a software-design-requirement with achievable test verification, fully traceable from development through operational test
• Support systems architecture and lead the transition to software architecture components and views with an emphasis on modular, open architecture implementations
• Support Earned Value Process through evaluation, execution and impact assessments to technical performance by identifying risks and presenting mitigation options
• Analyse requirements to support software design, test and traceability from development through operational test including incorporating software design-oriented thought processes, as well as ensuring verification oriented results
• Support test activity from test case development through test script execution
• Support generation of material for contract deliverables
• Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyse, plan, design, develop, and/or evaluate requirements for product systems
• Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation
• Ensure the alignment of product design with requirements
• Develop design and product specifications
• Conduct functional analysis to ensure safety of the systems, sub-systems and interface
• Write the functional requirements of systems, sub-systems and components
• Manage the system deliverables on time required by Project Management
• Perform other tasks like technical baseline management of the programme, confirming technical performance of the product, validating evaluation/flight test results of sub-systems and product and conducting verification of product performance against System Requirement Specification
  
  

Experience & Education Qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering Degree
• 4-6years’ of solid experience in System engineering within the Defense industry.
• Prior experience mentoring and supporting engineers at different skill levels.
• Proven experience in System design and development
• Advanced knowledge in Risk Assessment, Testing and Evaluation
• Expert knowledge in System Interface Management
• Advanced expertise in Traceability and Verification Management
• Functional experience with Data pack management and change control
