Position Summary:


The GCC Tax Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company and its clients comply with all relevant tax regulations in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi. This includes overseeing VAT, corporate tax, excise tax, and any other applicable taxes. The role requires an in-depth understanding of Saudi and UAE tax laws, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex tax compliance processes. The Compliance Manager will also provide expert guidance on tax-related matters and ensure that the organization mitigates any potential risks associated with tax compliance.


Key Responsibilities:


Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including VAT, corporate tax, excise tax, and other relevant taxes as per UAE regulations.
  • Transfer pricing experience and expertise.
  • Corporate tax experience.
  • Monitor changes in UAE tax laws and regulations, updating the team and clients as needed.
  • Review and approve tax returns and ensure that all documentation complies with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements.


Regulatory Adherence:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UAE tax laws and ensure the company and clients adhere to them.
  • Liaise with clients and respond to technical questions.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) requirements.


Risk Management:

  • Identify potential tax compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure all tax-related processes and procedures are compliant.
  • Manage tax audits and investigations, providing all necessary documentation and explanations to tax authorities.


Advisory and Consultation:

  • Provide expert tax advice to clients and internal stakeholders on matters such as VAT, corporate tax, and excise tax.
  • Assist in developing tax-efficient strategies for clients, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations.
  • Advise on the tax implications of business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.


Process Improvement:

  • Develop and implement tax compliance policies, procedures, and best practices within the organization.
  • Continuously review and improve tax compliance processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on UAE tax compliance matters.


Client Management:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding tax compliance issues in the UAE.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports and tax planning strategies to clients.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Professional tax certification (e.g., CA ,CTA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in tax compliance, with a focus on UAE tax regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of UAE VAT, corporate tax, excise tax, and other relevant tax laws.
  • Strong understanding of UAE and GCC tax laws and the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Experience in a similar role within the UAE.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) portal and procedures.
  • Experience with UAE Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
